TJC Welcomes Chai Cycle to Tahoe

July 28, 2025 by Alicia Phillips

TJC Welcomes Chai Cycle to Tahoe!
Join us for a meaningful ride in the mountains as The Tahoe Jewish Community partners with Chai Cycle—a vibrant group of Jewish cyclists who explore text, tradition, and community on two wheels.

We’ll ride ~ 25 miles on paved roads, bike lanes, and neighborhood paths with about 1300′ of climbing. We’ll stop along our route at Cuppa Tahoe for learning and discussion before finishing our ride. We often ride at a 10-12 mph pace.

Meet at 8:45 AM at Temple Bat Yam | Roll out at 9:00 AM
Helmets, water bottles, and flat kits required

Whether you’re pedaling for the views, the Torah, or the community, this ride promises deep breaths, good conversation, and spiritual connection.

TJC Book Club

July 22, 2025 by Alicia Phillips

As we head through the month of Av and slowly make our way towards the reflective month of Elul, we look to ground our learning in the traditional text of both mourning and joy, the Psalms. Join us with a cup of tea from the comfort of your own couch to engage in what promises to be a rich discussion!
The next book club book is going to Rabbi Allen Berkowitz’s Psalms: A Guide for the Heart And Soul.

Support Temple Bat Yam

Temple Bat Yam is a vibrant community representing Judaism on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. Our membership takes great pride in living this role for our community and to share Judaism with the wider community as well as our many visitors. Our congregation thrives through the generous support of Jewish tourists inspired by their visit, by partnership with other congregations to host retreat and other shared programs in Tahoe and with your support. Consider supporting Temple Bat Yam through your financial contributions, by your presence and with your time.
