John Friedrich, South Tahoe parent and friend to immigrants, will be speaking and sharing photos from his trip last month to a migrant shelter in Tijuana on Thursday, July 18th at 6:00 p.m. at Temple Bat Yam. John is organizing drives for letters, books, soccer balls, backpacks and toys for migrant children living with their families in Mexican shelters, awaiting the chance to apply for asylum in the U.S. The letters come primarily from bilingual children at Bijou Elementary school as a start to an ongoing pen pal project. John will also discuss plans for the next trip to the Tijuana shelters in August and how you can be a part of this venture.
