Shabbat Shira – Our Sabbath of Song

February 3 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

  • « Religious School
  • TJC Ski in the Trees – Shabbat on Snow @ Diamond Peak »

Shabbat Shira is the special name given to the Shabbat that shares the Torah Portion BeShallach, which contains the Song of the Sea (Mi Chamocha).  For the last decade (with a bit of a COVID break), TBY has celebrated this special Shabbat with members from our congregation sharing their music (instruments, vocals, clapping) as the TBY band – all welcome to join regardless of ability and experience.

Shabbat will be welcomed at 6:30pm on Friday February 3, 2023 and the musical service will be led by our TBY Band along with Student Rabbi Shira and Rabbi Evon.

We will be treated to a hearty oneg with light appetizers and desserts following the service.

Open Call for Shabbat Shira Participants
On February 3, 2023, we celebrate a very special moment in the Torah, a very musical moment in Jewish biblical history. It is the Sabbath of Singing.
Here’s your chance to be a part of this joyous shabbat at Temple Bat Yam.
Sing, play an instrument or just want to clap along with us. Please join us!
Rehearsals and meetings to be determined by participant availability.
