SHABBAT SCHOOL TORAMATICS
Our first Torahmatics this year had a great turn out on this day of Simcha Torah!
While the story of Bereshit was narrated by Teacher Pam, our students and parents dramatically recited and participated in the first part of the Torah.
Anna Silverman gave a "brilliant" performance as the Sun while Jude Freirich shone as the evening moon. Together, everyone resounded with "And so it was, and God saw that it was good."
Our young congregation moved from the seven days of creation with sky and water, trees and plants, to lizards, cows and humans.
When we got to the part of the seventh day, when God rested, everyone stretched, feigned sleeping and snored loudly.
The students also got a chance to meet the new President of Temple Bat Yam, Dan Oaks. Dan visited the Hebrew classes and participated in Torahmatics. It was especially fun to have Dan become an apple tree and have the children "pick" apples from his branches. Thanks for setting a great example of participation, Dan.
Don't forget to join us on our Sunday gatherings, after Hebrew school for our Torahmatics, dramatic presentations of stories from the Torah or about Judaism.
And don't forget about our family project this year, ADOPT A PRAYER. For more information contact Rabbi Jonathan.
