Shabbat School Questions and Answers
On June 5, TBY held its annual Shabbatuation for all Hebrew & Shabbat School students. All of the students took part in leading the Shabbat morning services. In preparation for the morning’s presentation, Alexis Wagner, one of the teachers asked the students to answer the following questions. These questions, along with their answers, gave us insight in what they learned throughout the year. This makes it clear to all, how important Shabbat school really is, and most importantly, they enjoy learning!
1) Are you Jewish?
A resounding “ yes “
Yeah, I are Jewish
2) What does it mean to be Jewish?
It means to believe in one god and to follow the ways of the Torah
To learn the torah and the prayers
To have my Bar Mitzvah
It is special
It means you get to read the torah and you learn about Moses, G-d and other things
It means to learn Torah
We eat challah, play legos all the time
Juice is for being Jewish
You are different
It means being nice to each other
We love G-d
We follow rules god gave us; discuss & think about things
We are part of an ancient civilization
Different than other people

3) How can you let other people know about being Jewish
Wear a star of David around your neck in public and be proud to be Jewish

4) What did you learn this year in Shabbat School?
Shavuot is the cheesecake holiday

I would have like to learn to speak Hebrew for speaking

6) What would you like to tell other people about TBY Shabbat school
The scenery is very lovely
It's fun, interesting & informative, with activities mixed in with lessons

Different ways, mostly relaxed

I think the most important thing about shabbat services is the torah. the services make me feel good
